Gulf Coast State College (GCSC) is a state college serving Bay, Gulf and Franklin counties with campuses located in Panama City, Southport, Port St. Joe and on Tyndall Air Force Base. Meeting the educational goals of students, and the skilled workforce needs of the communities served, is the primary mission of GCSC. This mission is implemented through strategic partnerships with local/regional economic development organizations designed to expand and diversify local economies.
GCSC is committed to being an “all in” partner when collaborating with economic development professionals in Bay, Gulf and Franklin counties and northwest Florida. GCSC’s proven model for meeting the needs of business and industry includes providing pre-employment training, customized training and training leading to a degree, certificate or industry certification.
Recognizing the importance of providing the skilled workforce that industry needs, when they need it, Gulf Coast State College offers over 150 degrees, certificate programs, and industry certifications. These programs include cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, information technology, business and financial services, health sciences, public safety, digital media, and unmanned vehicles systems.
Students participating in these programs receive relevant classroom instruction and hands on experience in laboratory settings and through structured internship opportunities with business and industry.
The workforce development programs at GCSC have been recognized by numerous groups for successfully preparing students for employment (97.5% placement rate) and GCSC was recognized as one of the top 10 community/state colleges in Florida.
