Northwest Florida - Florida was ranked 4th in Tax Foundation’s State Business Tax Climate Index. The Tax Index is designed to show how well states structure their tax systems and provides a road map for improvement.
Business owners, policymakers, and taxpayers can utilize the Index to determine how their states’ tax systems compare in terms of corporate, individual income, sales, property, and unemployment insurance tax rankings.
Florida’s tax system reduces the cost of doing business by having one of the lowest corporate income, sales, and unemployment insurance tax rates in the Southeast. Policymakers in Florida have worked diligently to assist business owners to lower operating costs through reduced employee turnover from not having an individual income tax.
