This week, business and community leaders in Northwest Florida celebrated the newest manufacturer to join our growing family – Central Moloney Inc. (CMI). CMI is an Arkansas-based company that manufactures and distributes electrical transformers and their components. This announcement marks the opening of their sixth facility, the first outside of its home state, creating more than 200 new jobs.
CMI is locating in an existing 140,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in VentureCrossings Enterprise Center in Panama City, Florida just two miles from the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. Chris Hart, CEO of CMI, said at the welcome celebration that this announcement was a commitment to continued growth.
“Back in Arkansas we have a saying, and it goes - the only way to coast is downhill. And that’s a mantra for us,” said Hart. “But here’s what I say today – this move, the only coast it represents is just a few miles down the road. Because for us, we’re going to make this big, with your help.”
Florida’s Great Northwest identified the company as having growth potential and being a possible fit for Northwest Florida. Code-named Project Lightning Strike, the company learned about the unmatched advantages within the region’s manufacturing sector and spent time learning about the numerous opportunities for growth in the region before ultimately selecting Bay County for its expansion.
