In recent months, Florida was ranked 4th in High Tech Employment by CompTIA research. This ranking reflects the 15.4% of emerging tech jobs in Florida, as well as the 5.2% of total workforce practicing Tech in the state.
For Florida, professional services are exponentially growing and evolving. With just over 530,000 Floridians employed in net tech, the overall economic impact in this workforce is crucial to Florida. From 2023, Florida has experienced an increase of 20,235 jobs added to this field. The growth and continued growth create a spotlight on the region for businesses looking to locate to Florida.
Tech and non-tech workers employed by tech companies represent $85.5 billion dollars in economic impact or 6.6% overall economic impact for the state that is directed to the tech sector. There are almost 44,000 businesses that contribute to this economic impact and provide the second-best tech wage premium in the country.
CompTIA is a nonprofit organization that provides global certifications in the tech industry. In the company’s State of the Tech Workforce, the nonprofit ranks each state’s professional services. In programs such as software, IT, and emerging tech, CompTIA provides analytics that delve into each state individually.
