Florida was recently ranked #1 in the country for Higher Education by the U.S. News and World Reports. This ranking reflects the 74%, 4 Year College Graduation Rate, as well as the 62%, 2 Year College Graduation Rate.
The study focuses on aspects of affordability, completion, and accessibility. In Florida, a wide range of grants and scholarships provide the opportunity to Florida students to achieve higher education milestones. These scholarships, such as Bright Futures, mirror the thriving economic climate of Florida. The study also reflects the pathway of connections for Florida students based on alumni achievements from Florida universities.
Two major universities in Northwest Florida were recognized for contributing to this ranking. Florida State University was ranked in the top 20 universities in the United States by U.S. New and World Report and The University of West Florida is 2nd in performance for universities in Florida by the Florida Board of Governors.
Florida’s Great Northwest is the regional economic development organization for the 13-county region of the Florida Panhandle.
